The view from the window – Friday Fictioneers

It’s time to write another piece for Friday Fictioneers!  Thank you to Rochelle Wisoff-Fields who hosts this venture.  Each week Rochelle chooses a photo prompt to inspire writers to produce a 100 word piece of flash fiction.  Do use the link to her blog if you are interested in joining the group.  It’s a great way to get involved in writing!

The view from the window

The glints of sunlight on the rain-covered leaves of the apple tree reminded me suddenly of that showery spring morning when I looked down at you from the window and laughed as you messed around in the garden.

We had such happy times when love was new.  But trouble came like rain clouds that drift in to blot out the sun.  The gladness slowly slipped away and now the view from the window is blurred with tears.

Though you are no longer in my sight, I remember those special moments.  And thoughts of you still make my sad heart sing.
