Thank you to Rochelle Wisoff-Fields who hosts Friday Fictioneers. Each week Rochelle chooses a photo prompt to inspire writers to produce a 100 word piece of flash fiction. Do use the link to her blog if you are interested in joining the group. It’s a great way to get involved in writing.

Midnight
The alert on his mobile phone told him he had to go. It was a great party and he wanted to stay but time was not on his side.
As he headed towards the door, another partygoer called out, “You’re leaving already? Our hostess will be sorry you’ve gone so soon!”
He waved his phone. “I’ve had my orders!”
Running to the waiting cab, he lost his shoe but just couldn’t hang around looking for it.
On his way home, he wondered what story the finder would weave around the shoe. He laughed! Who would bother with such a tale?
good one. Such a tale, indeed.

And of course we all thought about Cinderella. I hope this guy wasn’t wearing a fancy ball gown 🙂

I often wonder what the stories are behind odd shoes you see lying about the place. Nice take
