Bring just a little love – Friday Fictioneers

Thank you to Rochelle Wisoff-Fields who hosts Friday Fictioneers.  Each week Rochelle chooses a photo prompt to inspire writers to produce a 100 word piece of flash fiction.  Do use the link to her blog if you are interested in joining the group.  It’s a great way to get involved in writing.

Bring just a little love

The heavy rain had turned the front garden into a sea of mud.  The toys had been dumped there overnight.  One teddy raising his arm for help.

An acrimonious divorce had recently ended their marriage.  It had been such a relief to find a new home for herself and their children.  Her ex-husband had said he would drop some belongings round.  This was how he had done it.

Her elder daughter slipped an arm around her.  “We’ll clean them up for the little ones, Mum.”

She sighed.  It would take so much more than water to wash away the heartache.

    1. Please don’t be too anxious, Michael. I think that, in this case, the behaviour has been triggered by anger and bitterness that will be brought under control. Thank you for your response.

    1. I believe that the ‘nasty man’ in this story will be very responsive to help and support offered by friends and family, or by a counsellor like yourself, and will be able to control his emotions better because of their input. Thank you for your response.

    1. It is a heart breaking situation for the people involved and, as you have indicated, for others who observe or read about what is happening. Thank you for your positive point about the prospect of a new beginning. Hopefully, not just for her!
